All our 13 spacious rooms are unique and full of charm, character and understated elegance. They vary in size, style and outlook - some have high ceilings and original features with views of York Minster, others overlook the ancient city walls and have characterful vaulted cornicing - all are more special than the average and provide a wonderful base from which to enjoy the city.

Room 1 - Main House
On the second floor in Room 1 you will find a wealth of original features including beautiful original panelled walls, Georgian fireplace, sash windows with working shutters, elegant high ceilings, cornicing and a view of the grounds and Lendal beyond. The bathroom also has orginal shutters and a tiled bathroom with double ended jacuzzi bath with Grohe "rainshower" over.

Room 2 - Main House
This magnificent room on the first floor has views of York Minster and is the most spacious bedroom in the house. Home to the Great Bed of Ware 7 foot carved oak four poster bed and a separate living area - this room boasts a plethora of orginal features including panelled walls, 18th century fireplace and sash windows with working shutters. The luxurious bathroom has a huge double ended jacuzzi bath with separate thermostatically controlled Grohe "rainshower".

Room 3 - Main House
This stunning second floor room with views of York Minster is particularly spacious and elegantly proportioned. You will find your handmade "superkingsize" solid mahogany sleigh bed, along with many classical features including original panelled walls, 18th century fireplace and sash windows with working shutters. The tiled bathroom has a huge double ended jacuzzi bath with separate thermostatically controlled Grohe "rainshower".

Room 4 - Main House
A lovely compact single room on the first floor, with views out across the courtyard garden and beyond to the street. The bathroom features a powerful Grohe "rainshower".

Room 5 - Main House
This charming top floor room enjoys fabulous views of York Minster, with a beautiful kingsize mahogany sleigh bed and warm period colours. The bathroom features a double ended jacuzzi bath with Grohe "rainshower" over.

Room 6 - Main House
Full of character, this spacious room on the top floor also enjoys fabulous views of York Minster and has a luxurious "superkingsize" solid mahogany sleigh bed. The bathroom has the largest jacuzzi bath in the house, with huge Grohe "rainshower" over.

Room 7 - Main House
On the top floor, in this delightful room you have a view of the grounds and Lendal beyond with glimpes of the city walls in the distance from your "superkingsize" solid mahogany sleigh bed. The bathroom is large and has a huge jacuzzi bath with separate thermostatically controlled Grohe "rainshower".

Room 8 - Main House
At the top of a small flight of steps, this quirky double room on the top floor features enchanting views of the City Walls and the York Minster as well as a small domed glass light well in the ceiling. The bathroom has a double ended jacuzzi bath and Grohe "rainshower" over.

Room 9 - Wing
On the ground floor in the wing of the house, this lovely spacious suite overlooks the 18th century cobbled courtyard. Featuring a "kingsize" solid mahogany sleigh bed, with adjoining living room with very comfortable sofa bed, this suite is ideal for families or for couples looking for more space.

Room 10 - Wing
This is a twin bedroom tucked away on the first floor in the wing with views out over the cobbled courtyard, featuring two single solid mahogany sleigh beds, and a jacuzzi bath with Grohe "rainshower" over.

Room 11 - Wing
This spacious room on the first floor of the wing enjoys a luxurious separate living room (with convertible sofabed) and a "superkingsize" bed and pretty view over the cobbled courtyard.

Room 12 - Wing
This light and airy room on the second floor of the wing looks out over the cobbles of the courtyard on one side and a picturesque York roofscape on the other. It features a double mahogany sleigh bed and lovely dining area with comfortable chairs. The bathroom features a jacuzzi bath with Grohe "rainshower" over.

Room 14 - Wing
This lovely single room on the second floor of the wing provides a bit of luxury for your stay with a jacuzzi bath with Grohe "rainshower" over.

N.B. Rooms on the top floor in the main house have low door frames, and if you are 6ft+ you may have to lower your head as you pass through doorways. The ceilings are all full height once inside the rooms.
